Hello there! I’m…alive? Is it 2020 already? Not sure if you noticed, but I was MIA for a bit due to ongoing sickness right after the holidays, and thus missed the last mid-January development announcement. Ugh! Well another year has passed us, as well as another World Ember, and the awards ceremony coming up soon! I’m ready to pick myself up feet first, catch up with everything, and bring you the newest updates from the forge, because you’re worth it! I present to you the development update rollup for end-of-January!

Euclid Code Editor – BETA release

For those who live and breathe BBcode, this feature is a real delight! This new code editor is specifically designed to make the life of people who work with containers and other advanced WA Tags WAY easier … AND it comes with some really good extras like…

  • HIGHLIGHTING for your Tags
  • Indentation: Use the TAB button to better organize your text while editing.
  • Reliable undo via ctrl+z –
  • The ability when you use “@” or “[“ to ALSO search for 2 letters ( e.g. @le and then press ctrl+space)

Dimitris will be doing some more work on the coloring and theming, but this is pretty much done! Special thanks goes out to CaptainFry, a member of our Development Team and Legendary Worldsmith for implementing this fantastic feature!

How to activate

Go to your interface settings from the menu or Ctrl+Enter and type “o int”.

Calendar Celestial Bodies

change size of editor

Change the size of the editor using the bottom right corner anchor to adjust your workspace.

Search buttons

Search buttons are available in the BBCode shortcut bar!

Sticky Search

Alt-f does a sticky search so you can keep entering away to search for the next one. Ctrl-f (cmd-f for Mac users) does a single item search, putting the focus on where the first result is.

expanded stats

Here is a spiffy summary of your stats, now located under your World Word Count goal under the “Create” page of your world! These stats report a total of:

  • Comments
  • Likes
  • Articles
  • Followers

Quickly Update World Current Date

Update your world’s current date on the fly on your World Summary page with the new Set Current Date button! Such fast, much sleek!

Print Your Character Sheets

This one’s a super neat and useful utility for all tabletop roleplayers! Now you can cleanly print your character sheets with the Print sheet button!

Along with the ability to print your sheets as a PDF, you can also export your sheet in JSON format! Simply click the new export to JSON button next to Print Sheet.

Character Article Related Enhancements

If the article is linked to a Character profile you can now see a link to that profile on the sidebar.
You can now Delete characters which have no player (NPCs) even if the campaign is deleted.

There is now a link to the Character “Hero” profile of the character in presentation mode.

Form Check

Form validation before leaving a page is once again A THING! If you are about to leave a page that had a form and you have typed something in that form you will be prompted to make sure that you have not forgotten to save those changes. Better to be safe than sorry!
