Some of you may remember our shoutout to Project Deios when we won the Ennie for “Best Digital Aid / Acessory” earlier this month. Projet Deios is Mapmaker Suite for Worldbuilders, currently being made in collaboration with DUNGEONFOG, World Anvil, Guy the Great GM, and Blue Sword Games. It allows you to design awesome Battle Maps, stunning City Maps, and spectacular World Maps for your adventures. All in one integrated, innovative system. With less than 72 hours to go on the Kickstarter, Project Deios has been running wild- well above and beyond any of our expectations! Fully funded in less than 10 hours- and at the time of this post, an amazing 560% of the Goal has been reached. We couldn’t be more proud of being part of this journey!

Why are we excited?

Project Deios is not just one of the most amazing map-making tools out there, it’s also a Worldbuilders paradise! This is were we, myself and Janet come in; since day one of its inception we have been working close with Till and his amazing team to deliver to you (our community), and everyone else in love with worldbuilding, a tool that will allow us all to bring our dreams to life. This ranges from a deep integration with World Anvil to allow you to explore and discover your worlds through its brilliant maps, to the ability of creating climate zones which will allow you to get a deeper understanding of the geography and geology of your world. And, of course, the ability to collaborate with your friends.
This is going to revolutionise the way we create.
I, for one, cannot wait for this. Not only because my beloved Mark’s (Caeora) vibrant and uplifting fantasy map-skills will be making my feeble creations look sexy as hell, but because now I am going to have space maps for my galaxies and star systems. I cannot legitimately contain my excitement.
I kind of feel bad for Mark. With all the stretch goals reached he will be designing over 500 extra assets on top of the ones we originally planned… But you know what? My “hungy for amazing assets” self absolutely takes some pleasure from it! And finally, with hitting the 200,000 Euros mark (that’s 223,000 for the americans- or 266,000 and 295,000 for Canadians and Aussies respectively), it was made certain we will have a Windows / Mac / Linux application on our computer *mic drop* So, to conclude this, thank you all so very much for making this happen. It has truly been an amazing experience. But, dear readers: If you haven’t backed project Deios just yet, head to the Kickstarter Page and have a look now!
