The Cosmere RPG Kickstarter has been incredibly successful (top RPG Kickstarter in history!), and as a huge Cosmere fan, I couldn’t be more excited! Here’s how you can use World Anvil to play adventures set in the Cosmere and create a Cosmere RPG character sheet.
But wait, what’s the Cosmere?
The Cosmere is Brandon Sanderon’s fantasy universe (with a touch of sci-fi here and there). It’s the setting of his epic fantasy sagas Mistborn and Stormlight Archive, as well as smaller-scale stories like Tress of the Emerald Sea and The Emperor’s Soul, among many others. These books share the fundamentals of their magic systems, some characters, and even some plotlines. In some ways, it could be described as the Marvel Cinematic Universe of literature (but way better in my opinion)!
The first installment of the RPG will be in the Stormlight Archive setting, a harsh fantasy world full of alien-looking creatures and a deep magic system based on character development. If you’d like to play in a world with velociraptor-like crabs and oversized magical swords, this is your game! If not, the RPG will keep having yearly installments for each Cosmere world, as well as supplements to keep it up to date with book canon. Every world in the Cosmere has a different flavor, theme, and even subgenre, so you’re bound to find something for you!
How to create a Cosmere RPG character sheet
The most important thing to play an RPG is character sheets—and we’ve got them! Thanks to the amazing Tillerz, from our community, you can now create your Cosmere RPG characters on World Anvil! Here’s how to create one as a player:
- Create a new World Anvil account.
- Create a new character and choose “Cosmere RPG” as the RPG system.
- After you’re redirected to the character’s profile, click on the Sheet tab and click the Choose your sheet button.
- Use the drop-down to select “Character (Cosmere RPG)” and click the button.
- Fill in the sheet!
- Don’t forget to click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page.
