We’ve just dropped our first update this spring! This time, we bring you a brand-new image picker, which makes article image management faster and much easier. Plus, as an extra spring present, we’ve made a couple of improvements to the To-Do List to make it even smoother to use. So let’s take a closer look at what this new update brings!
New Image Selector
When using the new edit modals, this new image selector will let you quickly find the image you’re looking for. By default it shows all recently uploaded images, but you can also search for one by title, or even upload a new image by simply dragging it into the image selector!

New Image Selector as of April 2nd, 2025.
Did you catch that in the screenshot? There’s also a brand-new Default Backgrounds tab, which includes images you can freely use as backgrounds, provided by World Anvil. For now, only Pastel and Vibrant gradients are available, but the selection of available of backgrounds will grow over time!
This is just the first drop of the new image management system, which will come in the near future. The Image Selector is currently available on articles only, but it will eventually be propagated to the rest of the site, on features that use the new interface.
To-Do List improvements
The To-Do List also got a bit of a spring cleaning! We’ve added these two new features:
- Edit your to-do items. To-do list typos, begone! This lets you edit the item’s title and description, as well as…
- Attach articles to to-do items, both when you’re creating a new item or when you’re editing it. This will make it super easy to remember which of your 10 innkeeper NPCs you were thinking of in your last to-do list creation spree! 😅
So… what’s next?
The Image Selector is just the beginning of the upcoming update to the Images system. But we have so much more in store that we’re already working on! Keep an eye on this blog and the website changelog to learn about all our upcoming updates.
