Interactivity and fan engagement are the watchwords of Twitch – how do you engage your users and keep them active? Sage is going to help keep your audience interactive and engaged. And it’s going to help you reward your supporters and superfans, too!
How can you use Sage to monetize?
A home-away-from Twitch
World Anvil is the place to keep everything together – a home-away-from-Twitch for all your game content. It’s genre and system agnostic – though we also have the SRD of major systems – so it’s perfect for any kind of game!
Complete control over how your world looks
Sage gives you complete control over how your world looks, to immerse your audience even more. Choose a visual CSS theme which suits your world, or make your own! White labelling features remove the World Anvil branding, and you can customise the URL too.
Get new viewers and returning audience up to speed
For liveplay streams, getting new viewers and returning audience up to speed is critical for viewer retention. As well as interactive maps and embedded videos (or highlights) of previous games, a great way to do that is with character journals and synopsis articles! You can show the character sheets and worldbuilding articles, as well, to help new listeners familiarise themselves with the cast and your own homebrew world!
Up the interactivity!
You can increase the interactivity of your Twitch chat with World Anvil pages! Give viewers links to your interactive maps, character sheets, lore articles, timelines and more. Reward your live viewers for their attention by giving them access to password protected content for the duration of the show (then change the password afterwards if you like)! Fans can leave likes and comments on articles, boosting interaction even further!
Gamify information access
Want to take information accessibility to the next level? You can gamify password acquisition, allowing your players or audience quick access in-game to new information. For example, a successful history or religion roll, solving a riddle, or picking up the right book might open access to new articles on World Anvil for your audience!
Reward your Twitch Subscribers and supporters!
Using the Sage features, you can quickly and easily reward Twitch subscribers, Patreon supporters or other superfans with privileged information. World Anvil specialises in helping you control who sees which pieces of content.
From password protected articles (change up the password whenever you like), to subscriber tiers (CSV import or email address list), to giving them a custom URL they can click, supporters of different kinds can have different tiers with access to different content. For your extra special fans, you can give them the ‘writer’ permission, which will enable them to submit fan fiction and article content as drafts. You can then edit and publish these as you like.
Help your fans support you
Redirect your audience to your Twitch page or Patreon when they don’t have permissions, with your own custom 404 page! Show your curious readers how they can gain access to the content they’re hungry for, by supporting your creative endeavours.
What kind of content can you release as rewards?
There’s a huge variety of content you can publish as rewards! This might include deep dives into your homebrew setting, background stories of NPCs, flash fiction, or character journals. You might want to include secrets about the campaign, or extra images, map layers or timelines. You can also give supporters access to your homebrew monsters or villains (including stat blocks) as and when they appear in the live campaign.
Or maybe you’re publishing your own adventure modules on the side? Those can be released as interactive reward content to supplement, or even replace, PDF publishing! And how about other rewards, like behind-the-scenes photos – or even session videos, for posterity? You can embed those into World Anvil articles too!
You don’t need to build it alone!
Finally, you don’t need to do it alone! Players, co-DMs, production teams or helpers can assist you in building the world and your content! The ‘Writer’ permission allows players to submit draft articles without letting them see any secret content or spoilers by accident. The Editor and Co-Owner permissions allow co-DMs or helpers to assist you in writing articles, organising subscriber groups and getting things done!
