This month we have seen some radical updates to World Anvil, from beautifying user profiles to a whole new way to create worlds. We also have information to share about our upcoming events, so let’s dig in!

Dev updates this month

👤 User profiles are prettier than ever!

Your profile on World Anvil got a massive style update: not only is it more beautiful than ever, you can also choose among seven different visual themes. Click the art palette button on the right side of your screen to get started. And in addition to that…

  • Feature your work: You can feature up to three pieces of content (articles, maps, worlds, etc) on your profile. When someone else visits your profile, that will be the first thing they’ll see!
  • View your stickers: The new Sticker Book tab has a list of all stickers you have received in your articles… and all stickers you don’t have.
  • Hide tabs: If there’s a tab in your profile you don’t want others to see, you can hide it from your profile’s Styling settings.
  • Gift stickers: If another Anvilite is missing a sticker that’s currently available, you can give it to them from their profile. Share the love!

📖 New Manuscripts reading mode

Manuscripts also got a massive visual update, with themes, a mobile-friendly layout, an in-depth reading mode, and even a focus mode for readers! We also have the new corkboard function which allows you to easily plan out your plot and move your chapters, introduced in last month’s newsletter.

Additionally, you also have two new options as a Manuscript author:

  • Allow or disallow comments: Comments are enabled by default, but you can disable in Manuscript settings if you want! This will prevent your readers from leaving comments in any of the Manuscript’s chapters.
  • Move Manuscripts: If you need to move one of your Manuscripts to a different world, you can now do so! Check the Learn guide for details.

Manuscripts will be an invaluable tool this NovelEmber to help you achieve your word count goals. Check out this blog post for tips and tricks on get ready to write!

🪐 New world creation flow

If you create a new world, you’ll notice a new interface! The functionality is exactly the same as before (choose genres, give it a name, etc), with a fresh coat of paint:

🌟 Community highlight: Nobeskhet

This month we’re featuring Nobeskhet, the winner of the Myths and Legends category in the 6th Worldbuilding Awards! Check out this beautiful article by NimrodialLibrary:

Here’s what NimrodialLibrary, the author, had to say about this:

Ayonerra has been a shared project since 2015. It grows and matures beside us, with countless grand or minor changes along the way. You’ll find pieces of ourselves nestled all throughout the world and its stories, making Ayonerra a deeply personal love letter to themes, works and experiences we hold dear.
World Anvil was the first platform we shared our setting on. As the articles grew, we learned our strengths and aspects to improve on. Ironing out details, presenting the works in a concise and understandable way, and taking others’ suggestions to heart was only possible thanks to the supportive community. Being nominated in 2025 Awards helped us feel heard and motivated more ambitious articles of 2026. The twelve gods turned into a personal challenge, and hearing our readers’ excitement for upcoming deities kept us moving forward.
Nobeskhet’s victory left us completely speechless. Amid home renovations and Nincho’s pregnancy, we had no speech prepared, and scrambled in a messy room when our name was spoken. We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to share our creations, from chirping kachi-kachis to apocalyptic Rain of Amaars. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to meet your expectations.
