What’s the Complete Monster Compendium?
Designed by the creators of Shadows of Esteren and Fateforge, the Complete Monster Compendium is a love letter to fantasy bestiaries. It’s a chonker of a book, coming in at 400 pages. And it details more than 200 illustrated creatures using the 5th Edition ruleset.
But it’s not just monsters you get. In its pages, you’ll find 6 new playable species, which I personally can’t wait for. (What player doesn’t like exploring new playable races?!). There’s also a tonne of NPCs, including related adventure hooks for all levels, as well as reimagined classic creatures from the classic bestiary, with Studio Agate’s gorgeous artwork. And naturally, there are brand new creatures too!
Finally, and this is one of the coolest things for any worldbuilder or DM who likes to homebrew, they’ve included a kind of DIY kit. There are 15 archetypes, providing you with material to design new monsters for your games! This is more than just a standard bestiary – it’s a toolkit for creating your own monsters, an artbook, and a supplement to the Players Handbook!
