We recently released a new way to organize your articles inside your categories, and today we bring a new update! With this feature drop, you can now customize exactly what you see when you open World Anvil and access your world dashboard.
Customize your Dashboard
Our big update last November saw the revamp of Dashboards, a space where you can quickly pick up an article you’ve been working on, overview your world’s stats, get inspired with worldbuilding prompts and see inspirational articles from the World Anvil community. Well, now you can choose exactly what you want to see!
How to customize your Dashboard
Choosing your widgets is really easy:
- Click the gear button in the bottom left corner to open “Dashboard Settings”.
- That will bring up the Dashboard Settings window.
- Enable or disable the widgets you want to see in the Dashboard; changes will be reflected immediately.
You can also use the settings window to change the background image and to reorder the widgets, by dragging them up and down. With this update, the Articles & World Manager no longer loads by default when accessing World Anvil. If you’d like it to load by default, you can enable this as a user feature.

How to request new widgets, and what’s next for this feature?
While this update has already expanded the widget offer, we want to know what you would find useful as a widget! If you have suggestions, open a feature suggestion and let us know what you’re missing. Note that this isn’t the final form of the World Dashboard—it’s an interim solution, so more development will happen in the future in this area.
