We have a new update in testing! The new Search looks for everything in your world, sorted in folders, and accessing an item’s options without leaving the page.
If you’re a Grandmaster or above, you can start playing with this feature right now if you’re in the Alchemist Council (our beta testing group).
The New Search and how it works
The feature is out for Alchemist only, so if you don’t have access to Alchemist features you won’t see it yet. Read below to learn how to enable or disable Alchemist features!
To use the new search, just click on the search button at the top of the left sidebar (or press Ctrl+K on your keyboard), as always. The core of the feature works exactly the same—you type a search term and you get results—, but here are the differences!
- The Search panel is now divided into tabs for different kinds of content.
- The default tab is “All”, which opens with the latest content you updated.
- In the other tabs you can browse your world’s contents without even searching!
- For example, the “Secrets” tab has all of your world’s secrets sorted into your folders. Just like the sidebar menus!
- Once you star searching, the “All” tab behaves like the previous Search (it will show all results), while the tabs will look for the search term in that specific kind of article.
This new Search structure lets you reference your world’s contents without closing the article editor! So, for example, if you don’t remember a Secret’s name, you can still look for it in the Secrets tab.

How to turn on/off alchemist features
If you’re a grandmaster or above, you can go play with this right now!
- Click your profile image (the circle) in the top right of the interface
- Select Features from the menu
- Find the Alchemist Panel (it’s towards the bottom) and click to enable or disable the features!
If you’d rather not have early tester access to features in final development, you can turn these features off in the same way.
When’s global search going live?
The simple answer is: when it’s ready! As this is an incremental update, we don’t expect the testing round to last very long, so expect it within the next weeks.
